How can I participate?
Your participation is very welcome, so thanks for your interest! You can participate in Burgerbegroting Maastricht (Maastricht Citizens' Budget) in various ways. There are a number of rounds in each edition. This page will let you know immediately when the exact dates of each round are finalised.
We’re grateful for your participation, because your opinion matters!
Round 1 – submission of project proposals
- Maastricht residents can submit projects that reflect the 4 themes between 19 August and 15 September 2024!
Round 2 – further elaboration of projects and recommendations
- Initiators (those who have submitted an idea) receive advice from the municipality on how to make their project proposal complete, clearer or better. At the end of the round, definitive recommendations on whether it is feasible to implement the project properly are given. Projects that receive a positive recommendation proceed to the next round.
Round 3 – winning projects chosen
- During an online voting round and a physical closing event, Maastricht residents vote on which projects they want implemented.
Round 4 – implementation of projects
- Initiators implement their chosen project within 12 months, after which Maastricht will be an even more beautiful city!
