66 projects approved so far, new format for closing event
The assessment of the 122 projects submitted to Burgerbegroting Maastricht (Maastricht’s Citizens’ Budget) is well underway. 66 projects have already been approved for the voting round in early 2025. Voting will be available online and at a physical closing event on Saturday, 1 February 2025.
66 projects currently approved for voting
A total of 122 projects were submitted this year, requesting a total amount of €1,821,585.99 including a 10% buffer for unforeseen costs. The municipality started reviewing the projects in late September, and progress has been smooth, partly due to improvements based on last year’s experiences. 66 projects have currently been approved for the voting round, and applicants for these projects will be notified personally. Assessment continues for the remaining projects.
2 submissions under the ‘Greening the neighbourhood’ theme are being redirected to Mijn Groen Maastricht (My Green Maastricht), a scheme for small greening projects in the applicant’s local (public) area that are managed by the applicant themselves after completion. This will give other projects submitted under this theme a better chance of receiving funding from Burgerbegroting Maastricht.
