Maastricht Citizens’ Budget 2025 about to begin

The 4th edition of Burgerbegroting Maastricht (Maastricht Citizens’ Budget) is about to begin. This year, the municipality has set aside €750,000 for residents to propose ideas and decide together how the money should be spent. There are 5 themes to choose from, and there's also a new Meedenkhuis — the idea hub for the Maastricht Citizens’ Budget — where you can get help with your project proposal.

What's new this year?

Following feedback from people who have submitted projects before, we've introduced several changes. These adjustments will help get more projects realised:

  • You can submit 1 project.
  • Projects can request up to a maximum of 20% of the theme's budget.
  • Clubs and associations now have their own dedicated theme and budget.

You can find the complete rules and guidelines on our page What are the rules?.
