Citizens' Budget Maastricht starts September 2021

The first edition of the Citizens' Budget Maastricht will start in September. Due to corona, previous events (original start was planned in March 2020) were postponed twice. Now that larger physical events are allowed again, the Citizens' Budget can begin.

Welcome event 6 September

Monday, September 6 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m will an online welcome event take place. You can then get familiar with the citizen budget from the comfort of your armchair. During this evening you will get more information and get to know each other.

"I am delighted that the citizens' budget can now be started. Residents have been asking for direct democracy. That is what Citizens' Budget Maastricht stands direct participation, together with other residents and based on a good conversation. You decide on what is going to happen. I hope that this courage and good will, will be rewarded and that many residents will participate", according to  City Council Member Vivianne Heijnen.
